Dog Wave AI is committed to protecting user privacy. This policy explains the minimal data collection required to provide our services.

1. Information We Collect

The App accesses the following data to function:
Microphone & Audio: We record audio — including your dog's sounds and your voice — to generate translations. Audio is sent to our AI provider for real-time analysis. If you opt in, short dog-sound clips may be saved to help improve our translation library.
Camera & Video: For the Dog → Human feature, the App records a short video clip of your dog. This clip is sent to our AI provider for real-time analysis and is not stored on our servers afterward. You may choose to save a clip to your device's private Dog Dictionary.
Photos: If you choose to add a photo — of your dog (for AI image generation), a selfie (for cartoon-avatar generation), or a health/lab document (for text extraction) — that image is sent to our AI provider for processing. Health and lab documents you capture are also stored locally on your device.
Location Information: We access approximate and precise location solely to find nearby clinics in the Emergency Vet Finder. This is processed in real-time and not stored.
Identifiers: We assign an anonymous unique User ID to track usage limits and manage your account.
Purchase History: We track subscription status and in-app purchases. We do not collect credit card info.
Usage Data: We collect anonymous statistics on feature usage to improve App performance.

2. How We Use Information

To perform translations and locate nearby emergency services.
To manage subscriptions and daily feature limits.
To monitor and improve App performance.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Audio, video, and images are processed by AI models in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers. Health and lab documents you capture stay on your device only.
User data is anonymous. You can delete your local data and reset your anonymous ID by using the Clear All App Data button in the App settings.

4. Third-Party Services

We use secure third-party providers for database management, AI processing, location services, and subscription handling. These providers are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.

5. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal info from children under 13. Audio recordings are used only for translation.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data in transit.
